The Wilson County Veterans
Museum and Plaza

The Wilson County Veterans Museum and Plaza is located adjacent to the county’s courthouse on East Main Street in Lebanon, Tennessee. It honors the men and women of Wilson County who served their country in all the U.S. Armed Forces.

About the Museum

The Museum is dedicated to veterans of all conflicts and features a treasure trove of artifacts from World War I & II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Iraqi/Enduring Freedom. The crown jewel of the museum is a UH-1 Helicopter better known as a “Huey.” American soldiers who fought in the Vietnam War between 1966-68 flew in the helicopter. You can see many of the bullet holes from intense combat. And from 1980-95, it was used by members of the Tennessee Army National Guard in a variety of missions.

The plaza features carved granite stones depicting the service of men and women from all the U.S. Armed Forces. There is also a monument that includes the names of Wilson Countians who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
