No Vet Left Behind Program
At the Wilson County Veterans Service Office, we are deeply grateful for the continued support of our community. While we are not a nonprofit organization, we depend entirely on donations to provide emergency assistance to Veterans and their families in crisis.
Through a powerful partnership with Wilson Warriors, we proudly operate the No Veteran Left Behind Program—a lifeline funded by the generosity of people like you.
What We Provide
The program delivers same-day emergency support in critical areas such as:
Food and basic essentials
Temporary housing (including hotel placement)
Limited financial assistance for:
Medications
Rent and utility bills
Fuel for vehicles
Phone service
Other urgent needs
We place Veterans and their families in local hotels for short-term stays (typically one week) while we work to connect them with long-term solutions through our Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) partners.
Why This Matters
Our SSVF partners—including Centerstone, Mission Accomplished Stable Housing (MASH), Operation Stand Down (OSD), and HUD-VASH—do incredible work. However, they often cannot provide same-day housing or emergency support, especially during evenings or weekends.
Shelters may be the only immediate option, but unfortunately, many Veterans face barriers to entry due to medical conditions like PTSD, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia. That’s why your support is so essential—it allows us to meet urgent needs immediately and with compassion.
Help Us Bridge the Gap
Your donations directly impact the lives of local Veterans, ensuring no one is left behind in their time of greatest need. Donate today or contact us to learn more about how you can get involved.

Annual Honor Ride: Bernie’s Ride for Veterans
October 18, 2025
Bernie’s Ride for Veterans is an annual motorcycle ride created by the late Bernie Ash in 2013 with a simple mission: to support those who have served our country. The Honor Ride was held at Fiddlers Grove, and all proceeds went toward funding the construction of the Wilson County Veterans Plaza and Museum.
Thanks to community support and Bernie’s tireless dedication, the museum became a reality. After the building was completed, the ride’s purpose evolved, shifting its focus to helping veterans in urgent financial need through a dedicated relief fund.
In 2023, we lost Bernie—an advocate, leader, and friend to veterans across Wilson County. To honor his legacy, the event was officially renamed Bernie’s Ride for Veterans.
This year’s ride will mark a new chapter. On Saturday, October 18, 2025, the ride will take place at its new home: the Wilson County Veterans Plaza and Museum, located at 304 East Main Street, Lebanon, TN.
Rain date: Saturday, October 25, 2025
All funds raised will benefit the No Vet Left Behind Fund, a local emergency assistance program managed by the Wilson County Veterans Service Office. This fund directly supports veterans in Wilson County who face unexpected financial crises.
Sponsorship is just $100 and includes:
✔️ Free ride entry
✔️ Event T-shirt
✔️ Your logo printed on the back of the shirt
Join us in keeping Bernie’s mission alive and supporting those who’ve given so much. Together, we ride for those who served.
